This Saturday – 14th Jan 2012 – I’m shooting a fast-and-cheap short film on the Canon 5DMkII in my home village of Irchester, near Wellingborough.
I’ve already got my lead actor, am now looking for a co-star for him to play opposite: an actress who can play early 30′s and pass believably as a Mum (don’t worry, you don’t actually have to work with children!).
The film is a small drama about grief and the end of a relationship, with no dialogue. It’s a great chance for the cast to have real input into the story. Although there is a solid outline of the piece in place, I hope that running the whole thing through with the cast will generate some strong, emotional beats as we go.
We’ll be shooting one mid-length day 8am-4pm, which allows us to work with the daylight. As it’s a small, personal project, I can’t pay anything, but I will feed you and cover expenses, which is why I also need someone local to the Bedford, Milton Keynes or Northampton area so that petrol costs and/or train fares don’t get crazy!
